Math: Da Sprouts took a check in on Monday over expression and then moved on to the equations unit. Tuesday they learned how to solve one-step addition and subtraction equations using inverse operations and Wednesday they solved puzzles to practice setting up inverse operations. Evershrooms reviewed Monday for their check in on Tuesday. Wednesday they began learning about 3D shapes and nets. Polar Bears took their check in over pythagorean theorem Monday and began exploring transformations on Tuesday and Wednesday. Mountain Lizards worked hard to review Monday, but no one else managed to escape to room. All were prepared, however,

Math: Da Sprouts spent Tuesday and Wednesday reviewing their short unit over expressions. Evershrooms completed a performance task this week. They were tasked to design a scale model blueprint of two rooms in a home. Each room had special area requirements and the area of all furniture, round and rectangular, were measured. Polar Bears finished their last lesson on Pythagorean Theorem solving 3D application problems. Mountain Lizards spent the week trying to escape! Only one student has escaped so far. The rest will have one more day next week to try. Thursday “math block” was spent working in Stock Market

Math: Da Sprouts jumped back into their expression unit. Monday they practiced finding the exponent form, expanded form, and standard form of numbers with a cut and paste matching activity. Tuesday they had a lesson over the distribution property and Wednesday they had a lesson over changing verbal descriptions into expression and equations. Thursday the group worked at stations to review the unit. Evershrooms continued with area this week. They learned how to find the area of parallelograms, triangles, trapezoids, and composite shapes. Math: Da Sprouts spent Monday and Tuesday reviewing for a check in they took on Wednesday. Evershrooms studied circumference and area on Monday and Tuesday. On Wednesday they were given 5 tasks to further explore circles and reinforce their understanding. Polar Bears had a lesson over the Pythagorean Theorem on Monday and practiced with a maze on Tuesday. Wednesday they learned how to determine if a triangle is a right triangle using the Pythagorean Theorem Converse.
