4th/5th: Week of Sept 18

General News The week flew by again! The hands-on labs make theme so exciting, and we are seeing much cooperation and flexibility from the Gammas. During unstructured times (like lunch and recess) we’re working on helping Gammas practice ways to handle interpersonal conflict for small issues using strategies we discuss during morning meetings. Gammas have been very responsive to this work and have kept a growth mindset and collaborative spirit! Reading/Writing Update This week we created and anchor chart together to get a solid understanding of the key components of a biography and to make sure we have something to […]

General News Thank you for attending Parent Night. If you were unable to attend, you can view the presentation by clicking here! We had our first class auction this week and it was a huge success! It helps our classroom flow nicely when kids feel independent while accessing digital tasks. Reading/Writing Update This week in reading we continued our work with kernel and robust sentences. This time we

General News Your P&P folders come home on Mondays and are due back the following Monday. The students participated in a mini-lesson over how to fill out their supplemental logs. This is a great task to hand over to Gammas! They are developmentally ready to learn how to self-organize and it is such great practice for the middle school transition. Remember–if your child needs a math boost you can visit Whippermathers.com to get short tutorial videos (and see our math scope/sequence!) Reading/Writing Update This week we started the writing workshop by learning about kernel sentences. Kernel sentences are short sentences
