Math – Ms. Andrea’s math group powered through their End of Year Assessment!! These Betas have worked so hard this year – we’re spending our last days together planning an epic space trip! So far this week we’ve reviewed qualifications and hired a team of astronauts and specialists for the mission, carefully planned a training schedule for them, and helped another team figure out which supplies they can afford to purchase for their trip. Playing Lava Monster tag, Wyatt found a great strategy to remain lava-free!! In our Bigger Backyard…WHAT’S ABOVE US?! This week, we first finished our Moon Mission team projects. We finalized what our mission plans were, the name and emblem of our mission and we designed astronaut suits for our peeps. Each team presented them. We then traveled 193 million miles up to visit our closest star…THE SUN! We learned that it is HOT, HOT, HOT (12,000 degrees at its core) and GINORMOUS! Math – Ms. Andrea’s math group finished off their graphing unit and shone so bright on their posttest!! We were sure to devote some time to games and student-led equation challenges (aka balancing bears). Next week we’ll finish our end of year assessment and launch into space with a fun, math-centric project! Ms. Kelly’s crew has been diving deep into fraction comparisons this week! General News We are thrilled to report that Apollo is heading home! Thank you again for your sweet support during what was certainly an overwhelmingly stressful stretch for Apollo and his family. The Gammas final project (Body Systems Amusement Park Posters) is due on Monday.
