HE’S BACK!!!!!!!! As you all are aware, we switched classrooms with the Gamma class this summer. What you MAY NOT know is that for YEARS, starting in February we have been pestered and tricked by a little Leprechuan who calls himself Larry. Last Monday, Larry made his first appearance in the new GAMMA room! Our our former Alphas knew that shamrock and wisely called a class meeting to kindly, but firmly redirect the mischief-maker to his proper domain. 2nd/3rd: Week of Feb 12th

Math – Ms. Andrea’s math group wrapped up measurement, reviewed telling time and took their unit test. Now we will begin geometry! Ms. Kelly’s math group will be wrapping up their division unit next week and are squeezing in just a bit more practice. It has been division work, multi-step word problem and multiplication fluency practice extravaganza all week! Literacy – In reading, book clubs continue to run smoothly- one group just began a new one- Bunnicula! Math – Ms. Andrea’s math group measured big things by “marking the spot” that our ruler ends with a finger and lining it up again without leaving any space in between. We also had fun making lots of conversions, such as feet into yards. We had Word Problem Wednesday and solved measurement problems using open number lines in partners and presented our results. So proud of the level of communication and thought process developing in this crew. At the end of the week we discussed capacity and area. General News Reading/Writing Update Memoir (aka and personal narratives) is always a tough unit! Writing fictional narratives tends to come so easily but writing about your own life is not an easy ask for everyone! Gammas spent weeks powering through writer’s block and the challenges of this unit and this week finally got to dive into publishing and illustrating their books! Gammas used Canva to type up their books and map out the story page by page and then got to work creating illustrations.
